What’s On in Basingstoke on New Year’s Eve?

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
Basingstoke, Hampshire UK
27th December 2007.

What’s On in Basingstoke on New Year’s Eve?

New Year’s Eve is a family affair at The Academy Basingstoke when adults will be treated to a disco and a performance live on stage by a top party band, 60’s pop legends Marmalade. But children are not forgotten as there is a childrens’ disco in the Function Room.

Over the last year, the Worting Road venue has seen an amazing array of celebrities –including household names such as Paul Young, Toyah Willcox, Spike Edney and George Hamilton IV – performing at the family entertainment venue. There have also been some of the top tribute bands performing the music of an equally wide range of stars, from George Michael and Madonna through to Queen and Meatloaf. Plus, of course, local bands and upcoming pop singers such as Natalia have also been given the opportunity to showcase their work.
So, it is only fitting that they end the year with original stars who will treat the audience to a polished performance including some of their top ten hits such as ‘Ob La Di Ob La Da’, ‘Falling apart at the seams’, ‘Reflections of my life’ and ‘Cousin Norman’.

The show starts at 8pm with a disco from DJ Ivan Axford taking it through to 2am close. The childrens’ disco is for 8 years of age and older.

Tickets are available priced £15 for the show, £25 for VIP tickets to include a full Chinese buffet and glass of Champagne, and £5 for the childrens’ disco are available from the club.
